Club Nanotecnicos

     A friend of mine recently lent me her librarian informational books.  The second page in the book quickly mentioned that in order for a library to survive and thrive with members, it must adopt and evolve with the its community.    If we can inspire the youth to visit the library, maybe we can do a little more than just encourage books.  We can inspire them to do STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math).  While STEAM activities have been around a long time at children’s museums and teachers have been using them in their classrooms, we have decided to also bring it locally to our library.    Sometimes teachers have a fixed schedule and quickly do an overview of the projects or not all children get a chance to participate.  Some children might need a little more time and hands-on practice to full understand the experiments.  Our library now has a club for all school age children called: Nanotecnicos.    The only requirement is showing up with an open m
